UL 508, TVSS Surge Switch

The UL 508, TVSS Surge Switch is part of the Mersen (formerly Ferraz Shawmut) disconnect switches line, distributed by Gross Automation.

The Ferraz Shawmut Surge Switch is an extremely compact, high performance, annually operated, non-fused switch. It is specifically designed to withstand the high surge current of 200kA with an 8x20 µs waveform seen in today’s transient voltage surge protection device (SPD) applications. Ferraz Shawmut’s Surge Switch utilizes a unique contact design that actually clamps contacts tighter during a surge.
